| CRaG Systems courses do not cater for those with little or no business or system analysis experience
who are seeking certification as a stepping stone towards a formal qualification. A certificate of completion of the
course can be provided on request but there is currently no formal certification process for what is taught
on CRaG Systems courses. These courses are, instead, designed for experienced business and system analysts and
developers who wish to learn how to use UML within the context of a well defined model-driven software
development process or for business process re-engineering.
|
| Corporate customers often comment that CRaG Systems courses are well in advance of courses that follow the
British Computer Society ISEB curriculum. It is our intention to keep them this way and to continue to provide
courses that teach sophisticated techniques to the already experienced rather than just the basics to beginners.
This is what distinguishes CRaG Systems from the vast majority of organisations who prefer to follow the ISEB curriculum.
|
| Having said all that, the modelling taught on the 5 day Business Analysis,
Requirements Definition and System Analysis using UML course, while not entirely aligned, is sufficient to pass both the
ISEB Certificate in Modelling Business Processes
and the ISEB Certificate in System Modelling Techniques.
The British Computer Society (BCS) site provides a list of locations where these exams
can be taken and those companies that provide training aimed specifically at passing these exams.
|
| The Object Management Group who control the UML specification
have a UML Certification Program with three levels:
Fundamental, Intermediate and Advanced. The exams can be taken in many countries by registering through the OMG site. CRaG Systems
courses between them cover the majority of what is needed to pass the Fundamental and Intermediate exams. However, no CRaG Systems
course, or series of courses, covers all parts of the UML specification that is tested in the exams. For more information about the coverage of the
UML 2.0 Specification in the
OMG UML Exams please download the
UML Exam Coverage Map
from the OMG website. |
