1.4.1 Structured Analysis and Design is fine if the system requirements never change
Traditional Structured Analysis and Design methods tend to fall short of the goal of producing software that is easy to maintain and extend over a long period. They are able to produce a hierarchically structured model of the both the requirement and the solution that satisfies a static requirement. The model is, to a trained analyst, clear and easy to understand and, to a large degree, reasonable traceable. What structured analysis is not good at is adapting models to the continuously changing requirements that are the characteristic of modern businesses.
